From August 7 to 17, 2025, the 12th World Games were successfully held in Chengdu.

As the venue for four water sports—Power Surfing, Cable Wakeboard, Wakesurfing, and Wakeboarding—the Sancha Lake Water Sports Center consisted of two competition areas: the Ma'anshan venue and the Peach Blossom Island venue, covering an extensive area with a complex environment.

Cretone Audio provided long-distance audio transmission support throughout the entire event, ensuring smooth and reliable operation during the competitions with its professional technology and robust products.

Three Major Challenges — Solved by Technical Innovation

After taking on the task, our audio engineering team conducted a comprehensive site survey and identified three key challenges:

    Long-Distance Transmission

The distance between the equipment room and the furthest loudspeaker point far exceeded the stable transmission range of traditional PA systems, leading to significant audio loss with conventional cabling.

    Harsh Environmental Conditions

Located in the middle of a lake, the loudspeakers were concealed along the shoreline. High temperature, humidity, and sudden weather changes in summer posed serious challenges to system reliability.

    Precise Sound Coverage

The system needed to ensure clear commentary delivery for athletes on the field while also providing an excellent listening experience for the tiered spectator stands.

Tailored Solution by the Engineering Team

To address these challenges, we deployed a customized solution:

The entire project adopted a distributed PA system. The main equipment room sent the audio signals via mixing console to 11 strategic locations across Peach Blossom Island and the Ma'anshan competition area, covering both athletes and spectators.

Using a mainstream Dante network audio transmission system, high-fidelity and low-latency audio was delivered via fiber optics. The Dante audio manager then converted the signals into multi-channel analog outputs, feeding active line-array loudspeakers across all locations—effectively overcoming long-distance transmission constraints.

We selected waterproof loudspeakers, combined with ventilation design and real-time monitoring at installation points, ensuring stable operation in high-temperature, high-humidity environments.

JBL line-array loudspeakers were used to ensure clear sound for athletes, while additional line-array monitoring systems were deployed in front of the spectator area to meet different listening requirements.

Outstanding Performance — Highly Recognized by the Client

The NLP Series Dante Processors from Cretone Audio played a central role in this project.

Despite extreme outdoor conditions of 35°C ambient temperature and 72% humidity, the devices ran continuously and stably—with operating temperature maintained at 62.2°C, providing reliable audio transmission support throughout the event and demonstrating remarkable environmental adaptability.

The ambient temperature is 35℃, the ambient humidity is 72%, and the equipment operating temperature is 62.2℃.

Regarding Tongchuang's performance, the project leader, Mr.Tang, praised it highly: "Tongchuang's products deliver stable performance and exceptional sound quality, showing remarkable durability even in harsh environments."

From system design to field implementation, we tackled complex challenges with solid technical expertise and ensured the success of this major international event with reliable products.

This World Games project was not only a real-world test of our long-distance audio transmission technology, but also solid evidence of our strong capabilities in professional audio engineering.

Looking ahead, Cretone Audio will continue to drive technological innovation and provide high-quality audio solutions for large-scale events and complex scenarios worldwide.
